When Do You Need an Oil Change?

It’s hard to say how often in general, since it really depends on certain factors. How often you drive, your car’s make and model, what kinds of surfaces and conditions you drive in can all affect how frequently you need this service.

Which should you get? Knowing the difference between them is a good place to start. Regular oil is made from crude oil, while synthetic oil goes through processes that take out impurities and boost its quality.

Don’t be surprised if your car manufacturer recommends synthetic for a newer model. This type provides all of the following benefits:

• Cleaner engine
• Protection from engine wear and tear

Note that you can usually wait longer to have oil changed when you go with synthetic compared to regular. This may be more convenient for you — and help you save even more money.
